Rochester, MN UCC - It's Going to be Quite a Sunday! - Psalm 137:1-4
I am EXCITED about this Sunday! First, we have two incredible guests that will be preaching and leading worship- Moussa Foster and Robert L. Morris. Mr. Foster and Mr. Morris will be leading our Saturday workshop on “American Slavery and The Emergence of the Spirituals,” from 3-6 pm before leading our Sunday worship. Moussa is a member of UCC New Brighton, a former student at United Theological Seminary in the Twin Cities, and a historian with a Master’s degree in the History of African Peoples. He will be preaching on Psalm 137 as well as singing a solo entitled, “Here’s One.” Robert L. Morris is a renowned musician and choir director who will be leading the congregation in a call and response spiritual and accompanying Moussa on his solo. It’s going to be a powerful service with excellent preaching and moving, lively, music!
On top of all that, this Sunday will also feature the return of our former organist, Kathleen Thompson! Kathleen is on fall break from college, and she asked if she might be able to play organ for us. We’re thrilled to welcome her back and hope that you will show up to support her and listen to her remarkable musical talent as she performs our Prelude and Postlude.
Join us for a terrific Sunday of worship!
